We've gotten a lot of questions about whether this course teaches TensorFlow 2.x or 1.x.

The answer is: Both!

We've designed the curriculum for the early modules in this course to have code that's generic enough that it works with both versions, so you are welcome to try it with the 2.x. If you are running the ungraded labs by clicking the Open in Colab badge, you will be using the latest version of TensorFlow that Google Colaboratory supports. At the time of revising this reading item, that would be version 2.7.0 . While the lecture videos may mention TensorFlow version 1.x and 2.0.0-alpha0 (or 2.0.0 ), all the Colabs should run the latest version.

H​owever, the notebooks that are hosted on Coursera still use TensorFlow version 1.x and 2.0.0-alpha0 (or 2.0.0 ). With that, please refer to the commands shown in the videos and screencasts.
